Beyond Da Fence
A personal blog about life after retirement
My Bucket List
If I’m lucky, I’ve got about a third of my life left and I don’t want to waste it. I’ve already got a few things on my bucket list – some that are easy to tick off and some that will require a bit of time and effort. The list is not prescriptive, and I am anticipating that it will adapt over time. This blog is my attempt to reflect on the journey and document the memorable moments with family and friends for posterity. Maybe my kids (or potential future grandkids) might be interested one day!

A bit more about this blog
Why did you retire early?
My retirement was motivated by a desire for more time and freedom to do the things that I wanted to do. I would like to rekindle old hobbies, explore new ones, travel, and spend quality time with family and friends and maybe explore some opportunities for volunteering. Documenting these experiences helps me reflect and record things for posterity.
What topics do you cover in your blog?
I’m not sure yet – I think it will be a mix of reflections on a whole range of things and travel experiences. Let’s see how it pans out.
How often do you update your blog?
I am learning by doing. This is my first blog and how often I update it will depend on how quickly I pick up the editing tools and whether I feel what I am up to at the time is noteworthy.
Who has access to your blog?
Basically, everyone that knows the website/domain address can see my posts. Having said that, this blog is really just a little creative project for my own personal satisfaction and to share with family and friends who might be interested.
What is the main purpose of your blog?
I am fortunate to be in a position to be able to retire while I am still young enough to do the things that I want to do but old enough to appreciate that time is my most precious resource. Work has been a big part of my life and I’m sure it will be an adjustment which I would like to capture as I am going through it.
